How to Hide Chats on WhatsApp Permanently
WhatsApp now allows you to archive chats in order to permanently hide them, even if fresh messages are added to the conversation. This Facebook-owned messaging service's functionality is a wonderful method to turn off undesired conversations and prevent them from showing up in your main chat list. Users can utilize the Archive folder to ignore a group or person without having to block them.
Until recently, WhatsApp permitted users to Archive chats, which kept them secret until the group received a new message, at which point it was immediately unarchived.
WhatsApp said in July that it would be rolling out new Archived Chats settings that would allow users to keep their archived chats muted even if they received a new message in an archived message thread. Unless you choose to manually unarchive them, all of your archived chats will remain tucked away indefinitely.
What is the best way to permanently hide WhatsApp chats?
Users can now archive less important discussions and hide them from the main chat list using the new Archived options. Unless you are mentioned or replied to, users will not receive notifications for archived chats. Individual and group discussions can be preserved, and the archived area can be accessed at any time. Follow the basic procedures below to hide chats:
- Open WhatsApp and choose the conversation you wish to save. It might be a group or one-on-one conversation.
- On the top, you'll see three options. Pin, Mute, and Archive are all options (downward arrow facing icon). Select the Archive option.
- The Archived segment of your conversation feed will appear at the top. You can access the area at any moment to view your secret chats. Users can quickly unarchive a chat by selecting it and clicking the Unarchive option (upward arrow facing icon) on the top right.
- To archive all chats, go to the chats tab and select More > Settings from the drop-down menu. All chats can be archived by going to Chats > Chat History > All Chats.
